So the last time I posted, I wasn't married and I was no where near as grateful as I am today. A lot has happened in the past, well since June 26th, however long ago that is (approximately 1224 hours ago exactly) and during this time I have learned more than I ever thought I would learn without being in school.
To start off I want to say Oh my goodness thank you to everyone who was supportive and helpful and loving and so much more with the wedding. Both James and I feel that everything turned out so perfect. For those of you wanting pictures let me know, I will give you the link to be able to order some of your own. If you just want to look at the pictures then here a slide show of all of the professional pictures, I warn you though, it is A LOT of pictures!(It is actually a different post but I think you will be able to find it)
To start off the festivities we had an awesome family dinner the night before the wedding. This was put on by James' family and it was great. We were so happy to be surrounded by our loving family and friends and to have a good time with everyone. James and I were extremely excited about friends and family that came into town just for our wedding. We feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.
The next morning started off bright and early. We had to be ready to go at the temple at 6 am for pictures. We had a lot of fun with the pictures and even though it was early it so nice not to have to be out in the hot hot sun for two hours after the sealing. Early morning was def a good choice for pictures.
The sealing was amazing. So much could be said about the wonderful things that sealer talked about, but to sum it all up, we felt like the spirit was so strong in that room as well as the love that we felt from the people surrounding us, both in person and in spirit. We couldn't have been blessed with a more beautiful setting to be sealed for time and all eternity.
The reception was SO MUCH FUN! At least that is what we thought. So many people that we love and are such good friends were there and it was great to see everyone. Although we were extremely tired by the end, it was great to see everyone and have a good time. Someone was telling me the next day that they had talked to the guitarist we had there. He was so impressed by the amount of fun that everyone was having, he said, "I have never seen so many people have so much fun with out any alcohol!" Hehe, that made me chuckle. Thank you everyone for coming and supporting us, we really did have an awesome time and it was because of everyone that was there that it was such a great day.
After the wedding we staying the night at Loew's Ventana Canyon Resort which is the place where James purposed. It was a beautiful place and I have resigned myself to thinking that it will be a long while before I will ever be able to afford to stay in a place like that again...
The next day we started our honeymoon off with a quick stop to sat bye to James' family (who were all staying at James' and my apartment) and then my family- both places took to teasing us after a little while and we decided it was time to go. Although we did get in a few more bites of cake from the reception and that was very enjoyable. (Thank you again Kitty!) James and I went to California for our honeymoon. We stayed near Disneyland and for those of you who know me well and know my family, I have grown up LOVING Disneyland. I am a huge Mickey fanatic and if I could, I would live there. We got to California on Saturday night and pretty much just crashed when we got there. Sunday we took a drive up the Pacific Coast Highway. It was such a beautiful day and it was so much fun to just drive. We had a fun little car so that made things pretty cool too :). We had dinner on the beach that night and just kinda enjoyed the nice weather and the realization that the stress was over and we were finally married!
Then Monday we went to Balboa Island and rented bikes. That was really cool. It was a little overcast so it was just perfect weather for just riding around. Towards the afternoon we turned in our bikes and I got pulled into the water...IT WAS FREEZING!!!!!! But we did have a good time.
The next couple days were spent at Disneyland and we had an awesome time. I think our favorite ride was Space Mountain. The fireworks show and Fantasmic were a lot of fun too. I think we will def have to go back :) The picture of the Barbershop Quartet is an awesome story. I'll have to tell that one at a different time...
After some really really fun days at Disney we got in the car and drove to Colorado. A very pretty drive but extremely long! (For those of you who know me well, I DO NOT like long car rides, just as my parents and siblings, and now you can ask James, they will all confirm this statement)
The Colorado reception was a lot of fun. But I think I will write on that one at another time too because I think this post is really quite long...
Now James and I are pretty settled into our new home. It has been very fun getting our new place all put together and decorated. I'll get some pictures of that and be sure to post those soon too.
We are very happy and very thankful for the life that we have been blessed with. We have so many blessings and are thankful to the Lord everyday.
We are also getting ready to start school comin' up here soon and getting really exciting for my Momma to have her baby :) (I'm gonna have a new baby sister!)
Hope everyone is doing well. I will try to keep this up to date more often, I'll get this whole blog thing figured out, I promise!
Enjoy!
